EXCITING Pre Ballet Change!!!

All Pre-Ballet classes will now have the 10 - 15 minute tap segment that we have previously done in the Pre Ballet I class.  This is very exciting as we try to implement tap more firmly into our school's dance structure!  

Make sure your child comes equipped with both ballet and tap shoes!!!

Break Dancing Change!

The Co-Ed Break Danceing class taught by the AMAZING Tanner Denney has been moved to Monday nights at 6:00. Hopefully this is early enough for you to still get your Family Home Evening in.

Summer Dance Camp

Dance Camp was fantastic this year.  

We had such a great turnout and the girls totally enjoyed it!

Our Pre-Dance girls had a great time on their Princess Day as they learned and danced through the stories of all their favorite princesses.  On day two they headed to the Dancing Zoo for some animal fun.  This is just a sliver of the Elephant dance they learned:

The older girls were lucky enough to get some yoga training from one of the best yoga master's around.  Amy Williams, owner and Yogi from "It's Yoga" studio in the Riverwoods, spent some time with them each day helping them with body alignment and flexibility.  They also had some intense ballet training from Miss Beth and ended both days with some fun hip hop choreography that Miss Ashley learned from Shane Sparks in New York.  

It was a great two days.  Can't wait for the fall!!!

Summer Happenings!

Even with class not in session there have been many exciting things happening this summer.

First and foremost Miss Beth had her baby.  

Beautiful Baby Liv was born on July 6 at a healthy 7 lbs 2 oz and 20.5 inches.

Also exciting this summer, Miss Ashley attended a teacher convention in New York and trained with some of the country's finest dancers and teachers.  

We can't wait until the fall, we are so excited to get going again!  We miss you all terribly!

Alice in Wonderland Cast List!

It has been such a difficult week trying to decide the lead and soloist roles for the upcoming Sring Performance of Alice in Wonderland.  All the girls did an amazing job at the audition.  We were so surprised by how hard the girls worked and how far they have come this year. There were several qualified dancers for each of the roles making some very hard decisions.  The final list is based on the performance level during the actual audition.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND!!!!!!

I know the girls are anxiously awaiting this news so I am happy to announce that this year's Spring Performance will be Alice in Wonderland.  Parents please make sure to look over the notes the girl's will bring home and to pay attention to any emails you get from the studio.  All the details will be outlined via these two outlets.
